Happy Bicycle Day: Celebrating the Psychedelic Revolution

 


On April 16, 1943, chemist Albert Hofman accidentally ingested LSD while tinkering in his lab.  He'd actually created it in 1936 but got the liquid on his hands 5 years later & began to trip balls, deciding to purposely take more on the 19th.  Due to wartime driving restrictions, he'd ridden his bike to work at Sandoz Laboratories in Switzerland that day, and in his notes he reported that the LSD trip was peaking during his ride home.  The"Bicycle Day"  holiday was officially founded in 1985 by a man named Thomas Roberts, psych professor at Northern Illinois University, but was likely celebrated much further back by drug enthusiasts.  It's often celebrated by ingesting psychedelics and/or riding bikes.  Here's an excerpt of Hofman's book LSD: My Problem Child:

... "Little by little I could begin to enjoy the unprecedented colors and plays of shapes that persisted behind my closed eyes. Kaleidoscopic, fantastic images surged in on me, alternating, variegated, opening and then closing themselves in circles and spirals, exploding in colored fountains, rearranging and hybridizing themselves in constant flux ...  As I strolled through the freshly greened woods filled with bird song and lit up by the morning sun, all at once everything appeared in an uncommonly clear light.  It shone with the most beautiful radiance, speaking to the heart, as though it wanted to encompass me in its majesty.”

Bitchin'.  At the time he first tripped on acid, Hofman was a serious chemist at Sandoz Laboratories, which was (in)famous for making things like saccharin and, more recently, alprazolam & monoclonal antibodies.  His task was to identify plant-derived drugs for pharmaceuticals, and he was working with the rye fungus ergot when he stumbled upon LSD-25 (so named because it was the 25th lysergamide he'd created).  The bigwigs at Sandoz weren't impressed with his discovery, however, so testing stopped in 1936. 

...but after 5 years gathering dust on the shelf, LSD-25 was calling his name.  He felt it had more promise than originally acknowledged, so he quietly synthesized more on 4/16/43.  He'd actually absorbed it in his skin that day for the 1st time, recording the curious experience in his journal.  Three days later, he intentionally took 250 mg of LSD crystal dissolved in water & asked his assistant to follow him home on his bike after work.  Thus, Bicycle Day was born.  



Out of the Lab & Into the Streets

Most people think of twirling hippies or Woodstock when they hear the word "LSD," but you may be interested to learn that the first real applications of LSD were in covert experiments by the U.S. government & CIA.  Along with other powerful mind-altering drugs like PCP & MDA, acid was administered in high doses to entire military units as well as volunteers & unwitting subjects in psych wards, orphanges, prisons & other institutions across the U.S. & Canada.  One of said "volunteers" was a man by the name of Ken Kesey, who happened to work in a psych ward.  It was he who liberated LSD from its institutional prison & spread it far & wide via his Electric Kool-Aid Acid Tests.  Along with his band of Merry Pranksters, he drove a bus called "Further" cross-country, tripping on acid & other goodies all the while.  He also wrote a little book called One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest that you may have heard of.  It was a result of his bold psychedelic trips inside the psych ward at which he worked.

I don't have time to cover all the important figures & events in the psychedelic revolution because it's still ongoing.  From Timothy Leary to the Manson Family to the psychedelic psychiatrists of today, we're still learning about these potent mind-bending drugs & their medical applications.  Topics like microdosing, HPPD, hallucinogens for cluster headaches, alcoholism, end-of-life anxiety & other serious disorders still require additional study.  One thing is certain:  The placement of these drugs in Schedule I means that research has been restricted, so they need to be removed from this oppressive class if we're serious about education & safer medical use.  They don't belong there anyway based on the criteria of dangerous/addictive/no medical value.

How You Can Support Psychedelic Advancement

To support the legalization & scientific study of psychedelics, donate to MAPS.  You can also volunteer for the organization or attend their local community events.  Check their website for more info on how to do that.  In addition to traditional psychedelics like ibogaine & LSD, MAPS also promotes the study of MDMA, ketamine & cannabis.  The Beckley Foundation is another great alternative if you're in the UK.  In the meantime, do your part to spread knowledge & dispel myths about this widely misunderstood class of drugs.  Far too many people still believe myths like "acid warps your DNA" or "shrooms cause their high via food poisoning."  Just no.

Using these drugs responsibly yourself is the most impactful thing you can do in terms of furthering the cause of legalization & destigmatization.  Every call to Poison Control, every delirious ambulance ride or public meltdown only tarnishes the image of the drugs, even though it's usually an issue with dosage, interactions or other things rather than the drug itself.  Under prohibition, facts don't matter so take care not to contribute to the propaganda.  Always have a sober trip sitter, start low (dose) & go slow.  Keep a trip killer on hand (benzo or antipsychotic) & never drive intoxicated.  Know your body, know your drug & know your source but keep Naloxone on hand just in case.  In the era of fentanyl & nitazenes, you can never be too careful.

LSD was the last psychedelic I took, and that was in 2013.  I believe in the tenet:  "When you get the message, hang up the phone."  For me, the "message" was that this class of drug just doesn't agree with my body chemistry for whatever reason.  Dosage, set & setting haven't ever mattered much--I'd plan my trips down to the last detail and still end up in the fetal position for 8 hours while my friends laugh & dance.  I prefer substances that predictably make me happy & give me energy; psychedelics distort my vision like I'm in Alice In Wonderland & cause the worst fatigue imaginable.  It's not an anxiety-producing effect like when I've had too much THC; just miserable.  I've only had one "good trip" in all my years and have no idea what the difference was.  This applies to both tryptamines & phenethylamines, from classic drugs like LSD/shrooms/mescaline cacti to 4-AcO-DMT/4-HO-MET/6-Apb and even methoxetamine. 

Thus I can't imagine how much courage it took for Hofman to take that 1st intentional dose of LSD-25, hop on his bike & journey home.  What if it was as toxic as the ergot from which it was derived?  What if the dose he took was too high?  Being the 1st person in history to EVER take a given substance has to be unnerving so we owe a great debt to people like him & the Shulgins, who tested hundreds of phenethylamines & tryptamines & recorded their effects for us.  It was scary enough just tinkering around with those novel Chinese research chemicals when trip reports already existed so I can't fathom what it would be like to be the 1st person EVER to try something, let alone a psychedelic which can have unpredictable effects.  

Despite my personal dislike of these substances, I acknowledge their therapeutic & spiritual potential for others & support their full legalization.  Wishing you & yours an incredible Bicycle Day!

...and various other tech-challenged cyber citizens.  I don't mean this to sound rude so bear with me, but I get soooo tired of seeing people say "I got HaCkEd!" when they clearly got cloned.  That is, someone literally copy/pasted all your public photos into a new account, slapped your name on it & started following all the same pages, groups & "friends" you do.  They can only do this, of course, if those settings on your real page are set to public. 

Fact:  Give me a link to your Facebook or Insta page & I could set up a clone account in less than 10 minutes.  I could probably even trick some of your real friends into accepting my friend request, not because I'm particularly sneaky but because this trick doesn't require a lot of finesse--it's low-effort mimicry, and most of the people behind it are professional full-time criminals from far-flung locations in India, Africa, Dubai & others.

The "hacked vs. cloned" thing is not a matter of mere semantics: most cloning victims truly don't know the difference & believe their accounts have been breached in some way, telling each other to "change their passwords" or similar.  And have you noticed how many of the cloning targets are over 60?  Why do you think that might be?  I'll tell you:  Because this demographic is the "wealthy retiree" demographic, sure, but also because they're notoriously tech-challenged & easy to scam.

This is a multi-pronged scam with different end goals, but the main objective is bleeding your financial accounts & lines of credit dry.  Whether by identity theft, romance scams, imitation of your real life friends/others in cloning ("grandparent")  scams or phone calls where fake tech support criminals from India gain access to your device & everything you've ever entered or saved on it (documents, autofill passwords/CC info, photos, vids, browser history, bookmarks, etc), these criminals don't give up once you're on their "sucker lists." 

Thankfully you needn't be a tech-whizz to protect yourself from losing it all.  The link at the end of this article gives detailed-ass instructions on how to turn your account into Fort Knox & keep scammers at bay.  Read on to find out why you'd wanna do that.





Why Bother?

Your cluelessness could cost you everything you've ever worked for.

So why would anyone bother targeting little old you?  Because they already have everything they need to steal your identity & are looking for that final piece, be it your mother's maiden name or a word that sounds like "yes" in your voice on the phone.  All your other identifying info, from your phone number, address, the names of your last 30 years of roommates, political affiliation & even detailed maps and photos of your house are readily available online through sites like Radaris, FastPeopleSearch.com, Google Maps & the Dark Web. They may even have your debit or credit card info, but how?

Every time a corporation like Netflix or Sony has a data breach, all the debit card/PIN numbers or passwords you've entered to shop or pay bills on their site are leaked & auctioned off to the highest bidding criminal, usually ending up on the Dark Net. This unsettling factoid doesn't get the media attention it deserves, and the wealthy billionaire CEOs of these companies don't get nearly enough scrutiny & nearly no legal accountability for their lack of tech security measures.  Massive data breaches happen almost weekly.  Here are recent ones from 2025.

As a result of all these ACTUAL hacks, there are huge lists of "high-value" targets floating around:  people with elderly-sounding names like "Katherine," "Pearl" & "Bessie" in wealthy white countries that these scammers target relentlessly on the phone alllll day from warehouses in Dubai, Jamaica, Pakistan, India, the Philippines & more in an attempt to trick them into giving over access to that last puzzle piece of personal info.  (My own late loved one coughed up over $28,000 to Jamaican phone scammers despite not even having dementia--she was just lonely).  They sometimes impersonate tech support or telemarketers, both of which used to be a big thing in the '80s & '90s. 

You may think telling them sternly to put you on the "no-call list" is sufficient, but it's not because they're not telemarketers, they're criminals.  There IS no "no-call" list for criminals. And they sit packed in hot warehouses like sardines all day and night, training to hack into your online accounts, your smartphone/computer, your financial accounts & your very life.  Nigeria and Ghana are the biggest offenders in the "romance scams" category, posing as celebrities or lovestruck lotharios stranded overseas who just need you to front them some $$$ to help get them home, "no really babe I swear."  The phone & online scams are often linked--once you've been targeted for one & do the wrong thing, they put you on a "sucker list" and they keep coming at you from every angle.  Do not engage.

However and wherever they operate, this is the takeaway message:  There's no getting your money back once it's gone.  Neither law enforcement, social media bigwigs nor your bank can or will help you because the money is converted to untraceable cryptocurrency instantly once in the hands of criminals.  You've been warned.  The amount of money people have lost to these phone & internet scammers is nauseating & the response from authorities is always the same:  "Sorry, nothing we can do.  You shouldn't have answered that shady phone call/email/message."  Even with bank alerts set up on withdrawals, victims were not notified as their accounts were drained of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  (See: "60 Minutes Australia" episode in the linked article below).
 



How the Cloned Account Scam Works

Knowledge is power when it comes to tech scams

The cloned account scam is particularly pernicious because scammers pose as your IRL friend, waiting for them to go out of town for real & then messaging or calling you from spoofed phone numbers made to look like it's really your friend.  They do this late at night to catch you off guard, claiming to be held hostage, needing a huge ransom to be freed or else they'll be tortured or killed.  Imagine waking up to a frantic phone call from someone claiming to be your childhood bestie or aunt, calling from what your caller ID says is their number, and being told they're going to be shot in the head if you don't wire them thousands of dollars immediately.  Maybe you wouldn't fall for it--great.  But these con artists are thinking up new schemes all the time so it's best not to chance it.  

It all ties back into online privacy, which doesn't exist.  But that doesn't mean you have to fall prey to these predatory monsters.  By the time they're cloning your account or calling on the phone, all they need is that final piece of info, be it your mom's maiden name, the street you grew up on or just a recording of you saying what sounds like "yes".   Then they can open lines of credit in your name, take out loans in your name, drain your business or checking account or otherwise royally screw up your finances forever.  This is how identity theft happens, not by desperate Dumpster divers digging through your shredded mail & piecing it back together like a jigsaw puzzle. 

While you may not come right out and state things like your mom's maiden name on your Facebook page, scammers can deduce it based on your half-siblings' last names or that post you were tagged in that DID share it outright.  Or that "Hannity Family Reunion" group you just joined that happens to be public.  Or... hopefully you get the point.  This is the problem with letting strangers see your friends' posts on your wall--you can't predict or control what your friends post, and you never know just who might be watching or what info they're looking for.   👀

And so I beg you again, people in the 60+ demographic:  restrict the privacy settings on your social media accounts for everyone's sake.  Even if you don't care about YOUR online safety, do it for your friends, kids & everyone else connected to you online.  It's 2025--there's no excuse for letting these 3rd world scumbags steal your hard-earned savings or weaponize your trusting nature, loneliness or generosity & use it against you. 

There's nothing to be gained by befriending total strangers online or leaving your page open to lookie loos.  If you wanna flirt/date or meet new friends, join Meetup.com or sign up for a dating site (but beware because these Nigerian romance fakers are just as prevalent there).  Reserve personal social media accounts for people you know in real life, and make sure you're not accepting duplicate friend requests from the "same" person. 

This is a finely-tuned con designed to take advantage of the good nature & naivete of older people who may not understand "how all this works" yet "don't see how it could hurt" to keep refriending the same person or whatever. It's NOT the same person--it's Nigerian identity thieves posing as your friends via the cloning scam.  Oh yeah, some dabble in "dark magic", killing people & stealing their organs to use in their rituals.  All in the hopes of getting rich at YOUR expense.  If that isn't enough to scare you into action, IDK what would be. 

Just because you can't imagine something doesn't mean it's not a threat.  Always choose "safe" over "sorry," especially when the stakes are this high.  We're talking about the money you worked your whole life for--your nest egg that was going to carry you through your golden years...  your kid's college fund or inheritance.  Answering the wrong phone call or clicking a phishing link ONE TIME is all it takes to lose everything and that's just not worth the risk. 

Huge thanks to all the victims of "digital kidnapping"/online impersonation  who take the time to warn potential victims they're being conned.  You're doing a good  thing.  🫶🏽  I suspect it'll get much harder to even report catfish  accounts as fake in the era of AI when bot-generated profile pics replace these stolen (copy/pasted) ones.  Guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it (or not).  Right, Zuck?

The WORST Thing to Ever Come from Social Media?

When people talk about the harms of social media--and there are many--they tend to focus on things like body image issues, cyber bullying, romance scams, increased rates of anxiety/depression in teen girls, sextortion, dangerous drugs sold through the websites & local predators luring in young kids.  Indeed, all of these issues are serious plagues upon our society.  But until now, one specific aspect--definitely the darkest & most jaw-dropping of them all--has flown under the mainstream media's radar, and for good reason: 

It's fucking disgusting.  🤮

What I'm about to get into is so depraved it almost sounds like creative fiction penned by a twisted pervert author on Wattpad.  I'm talking of course about the Dubai Port-A-Potties ("Port-A-Parties") phenomenon.  Haven't heard of this vile trend yet?  Here's your warning:  If you have a weak stomach you may wanna turn back now; if not, here it is in a nutshell:  Instagram "influencers" & OnlyFans creators who portray themselves as rich models & socialites online are actually being paid by filthy rich (and just plain FILTHY) oil barons from Dubai to fly out and engage in some of the most stomach-turning sex acts imaginable. 

To be more specific, women have described enduring abuses ranging from being punched in the face, spit on, gang-raped, called misogynistic names like "white American whore" and "infidel" while being forced to drink urine &... even more unimaginable horrors.  Until now, the worst stories involved women serving as a personal "Port-A-Potty" for multiple men who have ingested laxatives & proceed to void their putrid bowels all over the woman's chest or other body parts while she tries not to projectile vomit.    🤮

I first heard about this phenomenon in connection with Farrah Abraham of Teen Mom, though I'm not sure how much of that was rumor vs. verified truth.  But if any reality "star" was gonna engage in this filth, she'd make the top of my list.  I do recall seeing pics of her (at the time) VERY underage daughter on a ship with Mommie Dearest & some Saudi men; shortly after that she was selling her poop in a jar online so... you do the math.  She also had pics of her 10-12 year old daughter posted to her OnlyFans page for a while in a blatant attempt to reel in the "pedo demographic".  🤮   And then there was this.  But this isn't a Farrah Abraham article so I'll leave you to explore that rabbithole on your own.  Proceed with caution if you choose to accept the mission because that bish is NASTY.
  



All About Dubai Port-A-Parties

There it is in black-and-white:  a likely Port-A-Potty Party.

So what IS a Dubai Port-A-Potty party?  What goes on there & why in tarnation would any woman subject herself to that?  Basically it's men with more wealth than you'd ever need in 10 lifetimes who live in mansions made of gold & like to show off their "toys", which include things like a Bugatti or a pet cheetah on social media.  These men, among the wealthiest on Earth, are bored with the high life; of watching increasingly depraved porn, buying prostitutes for "normal" sex acts & such.  So they traffic Western women--generally their favorite online porn creator or Insta Influencer whom they simultaneously crave & despise due to their backward views on women's sexuality--to their turf to thoroughly humiliate & degrade them in ways that are both illegal & immoral in most of the world. 

In exchange for this abuse the women are paid handsomely, sometimes $100,000 or more per trip, though there's no amount of $$$ that would make that kind of thing worth it.  Living in a box under a bridge would be preferable to being treated as a punching bag and/or urinal (or worse) by these pigs.  

If a desire for passive wealth & a celebrity image are fueling this from the victims' side, what drives the perpetrators?  Well you see, when you have access to the finest things in life, from clothes to cars to drugs to mansions & expensive private travel, you can afford to buy anything and anyONE without fear of legal consequences.  You are above the law & above social mores.  That's very exciting in the beginning but tends to lose its luster & get dull pretty fast.  You become desensitized rather quickly & need increasingly extreme content or activity to produce the same rush you felt the first time you had sex, took drugs or won whatever sick game/competition you were engaged in with your rival, even if only in your mind.   Eventually it becomes a serious chore to feel anything other than mind-numbing boredom & contempt for those you view as inferior, which is pretty much everyone when you're that rich.

Combine that with Dubai's misogynistic attitudes toward women who have sex before/outside of marriage & sprinkle with a dash of hatred for "the West" and you have the recipe for a potential disaster.  These wealthy buyers of human flesh are willing to pay any price to buy the living sex doll of their choosing & do anything TO her while hopefully knocking her confidence & self-worth down a few pegs.  It's not the intimacy or even the often raw, unprotected sex that they're buying: it's the ability to dominate, humiliate, control & torture a person they view as less than human.

But if they grew bored of all the other stuff, what happens when they tire of these extreme feces fests & mouth-pissing marathons?  Where does one GO from there, realistically?  I think we all know the answer and it's as bleak and brutal as you'd expect.  I'll refer you to Ted Bundy's death row interview with a conservative anti-porn preacher, which was largely bullshit because Bundy was full of it & refused to truly OWN his crimes, but the sentiment was basically valid:  porn and sex addiction do at times escalate to violent or even murderous acts.  Throw unrestricted wealth & narcissism on that fire & it's like Mount Vesuvius waiting to erupt.  




Things (Predictably) Take A Darker Turn

Surprisingly no one has come up missing or gotten seriously hurt or killed playing this dangerous game.  Until now, that is.  Ukranian OnlyFans "model" Maria Kovalchuk allegedly traveled to Dubai for a "modeling opportunity," though her loved ones have stated she was probably there for a Port-A-Party. When she was finally found on a dusty Dubai road after going missing for 10 days, her ribs & spine were broken & she was covered in blood, unable to speak.  She's already undergone 4 lifesaving surgeries but doctors still don't know if she'll survive or, if she does, what quality of life she'll have.   🙏🏼

The fact that one or more feral rapists likely got off on this brutality & is still walking the streets to do it again is both infuriating & terrifying.




Is This What It's Come To?

What the HELL, LinkedIn?  

You hear the crazy stories of people getting plastic surgery to resemble an Instagram filter (Madonna, probably) & older people getting fleeced for their life savings by Indian & Nigerian scammers online, but this is far & away the worst "side effect of social media" to date.  The crazy(est) part is that most of it appears to be done in the name of maintaining a phony image of wealth and privilege, and all for a virtual/online audience of total strangers.  I haven't seen delusion like that since the Beanie Baby craze (just kidding--this is far worse).  That's why I refer to it as a side effect of social media rather than poverty, low self-worth or anything else.  If these women are impoverished or lacking self-esteem, you wouldn't know it by looking at their online accounts, which they spend countless hours curating to portray a specific image of wealth & luxury. 

Likewise, it doesn't appear there are any pimps hiding in the background of their lives, forcing or coercing them into doing this.  That's perhaps the most baffling part:  that any woman with an ounce of dignity or self-preservation would risk her life to do something so godawful....WITHOUT being forced by starvation or an abusive pimp boyfriend.  Therefore these women don't fit into any of the common sex worker stereotypes, yet they're in perhaps the most danger of anyone in the sex industry.  By simply traveling so far from your support system to a country with laws & customs so unlike your own, you put yourself in great danger.  Of being hurt or killed, of being arrested, kidnapped, sold into the local sex trade or otherwise harmed.  

When attractive, normal-IQ women in 1st world countries are stooping to these depths for a payday, something is seriously amiss.  We need a national (or maybe worldwide?) Come-To-Jesus moment.  Parents, friends, sisters, mentors, teachers, coaches, spiritual leaders, counselors & others who know an Instagram influencer or OnlyFans model IRL:  hear me now.  If your creator/influencer friend seems a little too preoccupied with showing off her flashy lifestyle & is constantly flying out of the country for vague engagements, sit her down and have a heart-to-heart about the risks before it's too late.  Show her the horrific story of Maria Kovalchuk, which has recently made it to the most mainstream news outlets including CourtTV.  Make sure she's okay.

While it's ultimately on your friend to either heed your advice or not, at least you'll know you tried.  Tell her why she deserves better & shouldn't waste her best years engaging in the dangerous, exploitative sex trade in general.  But if she's going to, at least practice harm reduction and don't travel halfway around the world to a historically misogynistic country with Sharia Law where you'll be paid to serve as a rich man's shitter.  That's worse than some of the tortures endured at Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo Bay, ffs!   If your desire for imaginary fame & an easy payday is so strong you're willing to risk DEATH & PERMANENT DISABILITY to obtain it, it might be time to hit the therapists' couch or do some soul-searching.  That's not me being "sex-negative" or "anti-sex worker" it's just reality.

Social Media Sites Complicit

Instagram & similar sites are complicit in this international human trafficking scheme.  They're guilty of CREATING an industry of self-loathing female content makers willing to risk their dignity & their very lives to uphold the site's phony "I'm a celebrity" image.  An industry that otherwise wouldn't and didn't exist prior to the rise of these sites in the mid-2000s.  On a broader scale, they're warping the minds of an entire generation of kids & young adults, convincing them that they can passively get rich making internet videos sans any real talent.  Among those rare few who manage to pull it off, only a fraction can maintain it for a lifetime like a real career.  This should be no surprise with the way child celebrities are adored, worshiped & then discarded like yesterday's garbage.  Yet when Chinese and American kids were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up, 'influencer' was #1 answer among American children.  And what did Chinese kids aspire to be?  Astronauts.   👨‍🚀 🌌 😞



On The Bright Side...  

Exposing evil is easier than ever.

If there's one positive to come out of the rise of the internet, 24-hour news cycles & social media, it's that seedy phenomena like this are being exposed with the quickness when they would've just been covered up due to their unsavory nature before  While this specific brand of exploitation is new, sex and labor trafficking are among the oldest forms of exploitation on the planet.  The internet allows victims from around the world to share their first-person accounts anonymously in a way that's safer than a press conference or other public methods.  Several of Diddy's victims came out on TikTok & other sites in the aftermath of his arrest, providing additional details we weren't privy to.  Epstein & Maxwell's victims' accounts, including Virginia Giuffre's book & court documents in this & numerous other cases, are available for download online these days, many for free.  

Speaking of the "bright side":  evil thrives in darkness.  Sunlight is the best disinfectant.  Now that everyone with a cellphone is a potential photojournalist who can document crime in realtime, criminals are being held to account, war crimes exposed & political scandals given the attention they deserve.  Eventually someone will capture these sick, depraved Dubai abusers on photo or video, engaging in their crimes for the whole world to see.  Whether their government decides to hold them accountable is another matter, but at least we know they can't hide forever like in the old days when government pedophile rings were considered the stuff of tinfoil hatters. 

With that I ask, where are the advocates & whistleblowers on this issue?  Why the radio silence on the international sex trafficking & hideous abuses of women on sites like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok & Snapchat?  Better yet, where's the UN or our own government leaders?  Random laymen shouldn't be tasked with creating all these public awareness campaigns--that's the government's job.  Are we so beholden to oil-rich countries like Dubai that our leaders refuse to do anything about it when our own citizens are raped, tortured & left for dead there?  This victim was Ukranian but at this rate there will eventually be an American victim (assuming there hasn't been already).  If governments don't work together to stop sex trafficking in all its forms, they're complicit.  You're either riding with the survivors or with the perpetrators--no in between.  

And even if the "Dubai Port-A-Potty" thing turns out to be mostly rumor & exaggeration, there's definitely an issue with these uber-wealthy oil tycoons using their wealth in ways that cause unnecessary suffering.   While some details may or may not be embellished, there's little doubt that social media has a trafficking problem.

Not a Manifesto

Bad Luck * Negative Self-Talk * Exhaustion/Giving Up

When it rains it pours.  ⛈  In late February I had the worst Tarot card reading ever.  I don't even believe in that stuff, but every last bit of it has come true.  One thing after another and all of them completely out of my control.  It all feels futile... 

What can you do when a loved one is sick & refuses basic medical care?  Cry, yell, cuss, beg, plead, try to use reason & lay out a rational argument... and none of it does a damn bit of good.  What can you do when your own health is failing & you've tried everything, seen every specialist & nobody has any answers beyond "hmmm, that's strange" or "it's not what you think it is, but I don't know what it is either?"  When you KNOW you're the most accurate historian of your own symptoms (thanks, eidetic memory) & put in immense effort to document your body's fucked up behavior, yet professionals/specialists refuse to listen or worse, blame you?  When your already tiny support system is dwindling & you spend 95% your time alone, trying not to dwell on negative awful things but seeing no light at the end of the tunnel?  When family members you should be able to rely on lie, gossip behind your back & do everything BUT be responsible, loving adults?  When your rent, bills, groceries, gas, car repairs, insurance & other costs-of-living keep going up but your paycheck remains stagnant?

I don't know what you do, but I know what usually works for me:  Sleep, cry, yell at God, take pills, watch dark comedies, listen to depressing music, isolate more, blog into the ether, vent to friends who have their own damn problems & hope you're not dragging them down with you...

But it's not working this time. 

Between the nightmares & fever dreams, the familial exclusion, the mysterious illnesses, the anxiety about other peoples' health (incredibly stubborn, selfish people who seem to enjoy causing me distress) & all the political strife as our country is dismantled by grinning billionaires before our eyes, I feel legitimately hopeless.  And maybe that's not abnormal or bad, necessarily.  Sometimes unpleasant feelings are called for, but enough is enough already! 

When is it my turn?  To find love, money, success, excitement, adventure, peaceful rest?  Or ANYTHING other than endless stress/misery on a loop?  It feels like I've exhausted every avenue, tried every option & ended up more disillusioned than when I started.  You can try to keep a positive outlook but at what point does that become delusional when juxtaposed with your increasingly shitty reality?  

This isn't a manifesto or anything.  Just some anonymous venting on a stupid blogging platform that doesn't even support Google Ads or other monetization efforts.  (Am I wasting my time here too?  "Signs point to 'yes'  🎱 ⯆).  If you've made it this far, you're a champ.  Listening to pessimistic depressives whine is draining, believe me I know.  Just sick & tired of being sick and tired.  Hopefully tthings start looking up soon because WOW what a shit-tier year it's been so far.

Top 10 Drug Experiences of My Life (So Far)

It's been a while since I've done a drug article, so I thought I'd do a little list to debunk the myth that all drug users, even those whose drugs of choice are opioids or stimulants, end up hopelessly addicted, dead from overdose or otherwise ruining their lives & harming others.  This is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

I've tried a LOT of drugs in my day, but only after thoroughly looking into the potential side effects, interactions, safe dosages & long-term risks.  Never wrecked a car under the influence, gone to jail, stolen anything to finance my habit, been to rehab, stuck a needle in my arm or otherwise fallen into this very ignorant stereotype.  After a lifetime of experimentation, I can say definitively that it is entirely possible to use drugs safely & responsibly the same way you can drink responsibly, you just have to be armed with the right information & be honest with yourself about your use.  (Some people can't manage moderation due to a history of addiction or other issues with repetitive behaviors/compulsions so that obviously doesn't apply to them, but for the vast majority of mentally stable(ish), healthy adults it's true.

With that, here it is:

 The Top 10 Most Amazing Drug Experiences of my Life (in no particular order):

Trip settings

Body-boarding in the Gulf of Mexico on hydrocodone and small amounts of codeine cough syrup.  (Unsafe).  Nothing like surfing the filthy brown waves of a Texas beach while zooming on opiates.  I had 2 sober sitters and lots of sober onlookers around so I felt it was safe-ish to do.  Great fun.  

Morning shroom trip at Burning Man on the open playa.  Very colorful.  Felt like a scene out of the Bible with all the sandals, togas & dusty-faced bearded guys.  Mountains melted & clouds took on some very lively shapes.

Cuddling w/ a friend on MDMA during Temple Burn (last night of Burning Man).  Do not die until you've cuddled/dry humped someone while rolling hard on good molly.  A sensual rather than sexual experience.  Watching the Burning Man Temple go up in smoke at sunset was also a nice touch.  🛖🔥

Weekend studying on Mini-Thins in high school.  Ahhh, ephedra.  Baby's 1st stimulant.  Mom had to buy them for me as I was underage.  She'd yell the whole time & call me an addict.  Little did I know I had ADHD & thus a semi-legit reason for seeking these out.

Clubbing on methylone - Fell in "love" with a skanky DJ while dancing all night on this drug in my 20's. It felt more like how I'd imagined "Ecstasy" would feel than actual MDMA does.  Infinite re-dose potential & less comedown than the real thing too.  

Walking through the Mormon Temple while drinking codeine cough syrup straight from the bottle.  Like a Sir.  🎩

Workouts on 2-FMA + tianeptine.  While recovering from benzo withdrawal, I could only tolerate exercise for my mood enhancement for about a year.  Gradually I added tiny amounts of these drugs: one a Chinese stimulant and the other a mild opiate.  The motivation & "runner's high" were Godlike.   

Eating at SUR in Beverly Hills on hydrocodone ($100/plate!).  No major celeb sightings but saw a couple reality stars & melted in my seat while eating overpriced linguine.

Camping on Percocet 10's.  In which myself & 3 other gals trekked up a mountain, popped some tents (and pills!) & laughed our asses off while roasting marshmallows & playing "Never Have I Ever".  

Writing a 5-star article on meth.  Yes, I'm such a nerd that the one and only time I experimented with this drug, I used it to enhance my focus/productivity.  5 stars = perfect, no edits needed.  Never achieved that level of perfection before or since.


BONUS:  Tripping in the hot tub on 4-AcO-DMT.  (Unsafe).  Psychedelics really aren't my bag, but this was a pretty memorable experience due to the gorgeous sunset, the suspicious lack of kids & the fact that my partner was also tripping.


If anyone can tell me how these drugs or experiences are somehow worse for me than getting shitfaced drunk on the weekends, blacking out & waking up injured in strange rooms covered in my own vomit & tears, wrecking cars & going to the drunk tank for fighting cops, I'm all ears.  Didn't think so..  Wouldn't trade 'em for the world & certainly not for a lifetime of binge drinking, broken relationships, damaged organs, embarrassing regretful behavior & blurry memories courtesy of the "legal drug" industry.  🫗 🚬🙅🏻‍♀

Israel's War Crimes Fuelling Antisemitism Worldwide

Uncomfy truth:   Israel & Zionists are doing more to worsen global anti-semitism than any single group on the planet.  While anyone with 2 braincells knows "Israel" and "Jew" are not interchangeable or synonymous, your country DOES fly the Star of David as its official flag while referring to itself as the "Jewish homeland" or  the "Jewish state of Israel".  See how that might be a TAD confusing for less well-read or worldly onlookers?  Racists & bigoted types aren't known for being particularly brilliant to start with & here y'all go trying to confuse them.

Members of the Jewish diaspora who do not endorse Zionism or the genocide in Gaza should be PISSED at these bloodthirsty, missile-dropping maniacs.  And indeed they appear to be, at least in the U.S.  I was heartened to see a group I already follow, Jewish Voice for Peace, organizing a mass protest inside Trump Towers recently in which American Jews opposed to the war said "NOT IN MY NAME".   It's no more noteworthy when Jews oppose the war than anyone else, except that in the U.S. this overwhelmingly white, upper-middle class demographic is way less likely to get wrestled to the ground by cops, arrested, taken away in unmarked vans or shipped out of the country than their poor, Muslim, brown or Black non-Jewish counterparts.  That's what happened recently to U.S. permanent resident Mahmoud Khalil--Columbia grad, campus protest organizer & surprise, surprise: a brown Palestinian man.  More deportations appear to be on the horizon for law-abiding, non violent war opposing protesters in the country on a green card or Visa if we don't rise up and stop it NOW. 

Police protect property and the very wealthy, not the public.  This is why it's so vital for white, upper class & other privileged groups to raise their voices loudly & often.  The very act of peaceful protest is more deadly for certain groups in the U.S.  For supporters of the 1st Amendment & basic fairness/equality regardless of race or creed, this latest act against Khalil is potentially the most egregious act of anti-American, Constitution-violating discrimination by the U.S. government since the Kent State Massacre.  They are straight up saying "If you're legally here on a green card or student visa, you may only support one side of the conflict or else keep your foreign yap shut." 

If you don't believe this is going to result in antisemitic blowback all over the world potentially lasting years or decades, you're lying to yourself.  



America's Super Sus Relationship with Israel

Israel is not the 51st state of the U.S.  Our undying monetary & moral support of their war crimes when they've never even given us anything tangible as a nation is highly sus.  So then you have to ask yourself:  what kind of kompromat or blackmail material might they have on our billionaires, judges, politicians... on the Trump Admin or Trump himself? 

I recall a photo of Elon with a beaming Gislaine Maxwell circulating on X back when it was Twitter.  What was allegedly happening in that pic is even more chilling when you consider his later takeover of the website, one of the leading communication platforms on the globe.  The only real export by Israel is their highly creepy spying apparatus, the most advanced & intricate on Earth.  It may be less of a friendly relationship and more of a "send us billions in weapons or else Trump's piss tape drops tomorrow on Worldstar" relationship.  (Don't mean to imply this is a partisan thing as Dems literally blew the election pledging their unwavering dedication to murdering Palestinian ki--I mean, supporting Israel).  

Meanwhile we keep picking shit with Russia and China when like 90% of our electronics, textiles, medications, food & other goods come directly from China.  Does that seem a little... odd or counterintuitive to anyone else?  I ask you again what innovation, product, service or solution has Israel E V E R given the United States that would even halfway justify pouring endless billions into their constant illegal wars?  Especially when we really, REALLY can't afford it:  we've got so many veterans, elderly, addicted & homeless mentally ill citizens living under bridges in this country we're practically one giant tent camp. Not only that, but we're making enemies around the world by supporting these murderous colonizers & staying involved in Middle Eastern affairs in general.  Who's steering this ship anyway?  I'd like to have a chat.

Our voices do matter, and we should be using them to demand answers and accountability on this issue before we lose the right to do so altogether.  I'm not a fan of hyperbole but things are escalating fast & it only takes one night in "session" while the country sleeps for Congress to pass some atrocious bill that rewrites the rules on protest & free assembly permanently (or potentially the Constitution itself).   As with the Patriot Act, there's probably already a rough draft waiting on deck somewhere.

Again I repeat:  Israel's actions as a country do not reflect the ideals, beliefs or wishes of the worldwide Jewish population.  But their involvement in this relentless massacre is a BAD LOOK and could conceivably lead to serious problems for Jewish people living anywhere, and it shouldn't be hard to see why.  That's not victim-blaming, it's just reality.  Also:  antisemitic sentiments, as ugly & dangerous as they are, don't really compare with the actual physical slaughter of millions of innocent men, women & children in realtime in Palestine.  If roles were reversed the Western media would be labeling it a modern Holocaust & supporting bombing the offenders back into the Stone Age.  Except, we already are doing that.  Therein lies the problem.  😞

Forgive the language but I've JUST about had my fill of these reality-denying wastes of oxygen.  With the recent death of a child due to measles and the doubling down of the dead kid's parents, who've warned others on record "Don't get the shot" after their kid died, you can hopefully see where my rage is coming from.  Posts like the ones above litter sites like Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok & others, igniting huge circular arguments that go nowhere.  When people make broad, sweeping and obviously RETARDED statements like these, what they're really saying is "Pay attention to me.  Look at me.  Argue with me.  Bad attention is better than none at all.  I'm just too edgy for this world, won't somebody acknowledge my uniqueness?"

You know that saying about arguing with fools/wrestling with pigs?  Definitely applies here.  (I prefer the approach of AIDSTruth.org, which simply lists the names of all the AIDS denialists who have died of HIV).  Stop giving them attention in the press.  (It's a shame we can't also refuse them access to vital, limited medical resources too since they don't believe in science).  They will not be convinced by evidence and facts because their ignorant views were not formed using facts/evidence to begin with.  Lowering yourself to engaging with these types is a waste of your time--time that could be better spent doing almost anything else including talking shop with fellow science -minded reality-acknowledging sane folks.

We all know they'd just use it to play the "woe is poor persecuted me" card.  The "I'm just like Jesus on the cross" card.  No, bitches.  You're really not.  Because Jesus healed the sick, he didn't let them languish and die for lack of adequate medical care.  Where the fuck are the local police & other investigative agencies?  Why is America okay with parents slaughtering their kids?  Are children property or people?  In some states pets have more rights than children under 18 & in nearly ALL states a fetus has more rights.  Our national priorities are twisted, yet this too is a reflection of our dire misunderstanding of/respect for science in many ways.

Ahh yes, the old "foreigners brung it in" mindset.  Xenophobic pricks. 

You could've just as easily declined to comment, asking the media for space while you grieved.  But nope, you doubled down on your entirely WRONG assertions, urging other parents not to vaccinate their kids even as measles, pertussis, RSV & other deadly communicable diseases spread like wildfire largely thanks to Einsteins like you.  That requires a special kind of malice & ill intent, and it should be treated as such.  No more of this "they've suffered enough" bullshit.  We need to let the world know that we will not tolerate child killers, abusers, molesters or torturers in our midst no matter their reasoning or relationship to the victim.  The outcome is the same:  a precious unique soul is gone forever, taken before their time by someone who didn't have the right to kill them.  Not a potential person:  a living, breathing, thinking, feeling person with friends, siblings and a real impact in this world right now.

And for those who are still confused by my use of active verbs like "kill, "murder" and "slaughter":  Failure to act or protect your minor children from foreseeable harm is NEGLECT, which is ABUSE.  In this case, said abuse led directly to the little girl's death.  If that's not worthy of a murder charge I don't know what is.  A good lawyer could argue that comments like "she's better off (dead than alive)" constitute a possible motive or, at the very least, a total lack of remorse/caring in the wake of their kid's death.

I hope these 2 kissing cousins are made examples of & punished to the fullest extent of the law as any child killer should be, but I'm not hopeful.  This country is known for giving slap-on-the-wrist sentences to killers of women & kids when they get anything at all.  If they belong to a cult or religious group, they tend to get even more protection under our "religious freedom" laws. 

Still, this was a child sacrifice in the strictest sense & there's NO excusing that.  Magical thinking is not an excuse.  Willful ignorance or Stone Age religious dogma don't cut it either.  Not in 2025.  The data is readily available to anyone with an internet connection or a decent, ethical pediatrician within a hundred mile radius.  Our federal and state governments need to send the message that, while your kid's healthcare choices are ultimately yours to make, those choices will come with serious legal consequences if you make the wrong one despite mountains of scientific data to the contrary & your kid dies or becomes a vegetable.  No more exceptions for "grieving parents"--being a child's legal guardian or bio parent doesn't give you the right to kill them.

Rest well, little Unnamed Girlchild.  You got a raw deal in this life with these careless, low-IQ freaks LARPing as your parents.  I hope you're surrounded by all the love and attention you didn't get in this painfully brief life and have better luck in your next incarnation.  May your tormentors face swift justice both here & in the next world.  I'm not a believer in Hell but if I was, it wouldb be populated with babykillers like these.  🤍
